A joint research team at Gangwon National University has identified the regulatory mechanism controlling biosynthesis of cannabidiol (CBD), a major bioactive compound in medical cannabis. The study found differential expression in more than 2,400 genes depending on flowering stage and cultivar. The findings were published in Industrial Crops & Products, an international journal ranked in the top 5% in the field of agricultural sciences.
